This project aims at the full construction of an innovative refinery plant site for biofuel with an annual production capacity of 80,000 metric tons within the territories of the Republic of Cyprus for the production of EN-14214 & EN-14213 compliant Biodiesel for automotives, i.e. free fatty acids methyl esters (FAME) from vegetable oils and organic fats of various quality grades and origin. It also illustrates the business strategy for its economically successful long-term operation. Key element of the production work flow inside of the proposed refinery plant site will be the ultrasonic reactor, which enables a higher quality tolerance with regards to the selection of feedstock by having a constant high quality biodiesel. The technology is already in use in various plant sites today.
Being located on the crossroads of international commercial shipping routes from Asia and Africa via the Egyptian Suez Channel to Europe, the island of Cyprus enjoys a favourable geographic and geostrategic advantage. This will be highly beneficial for a biodiesel refinery plant site located close to the port of Limassol on the island of Cyprus. The proposed refinery plant site is going to export its production workflow's output as a premium product into the local consumer markets of the EU countries and the countries associated with the EU.
The local climate, in particular the sea water and air temperatures throughout the year, enable the year-around handling and processing of all types of feedstock by the refinery plant site's ultrasonic reactor units and storage facilities. This gives the refinery plant site yet another competitive advantage.
